Las Vegas, NV: New Horizons Learning Group proudly announces the first round success stories resulting from its latest initiative, the Early Career Acceleration Programme (ECAP). Five (5) IT scholarships have been awarded to Las Vegas residents aged 18-26 as a result of this initial success. Joshua Hall, a Las Vegas native with a strong aptitude in the IT field, was the first recipient of this scholarship. Hall responded, “It’s amazing to meet so many people who truly care about the success of this city’s next generation IT professionals.” I cannot wait to get started on the next important milestone in my career.
“Nevada ranks consistently near bottom in Education reports,” stated Sean McKesson (New Horizons Center Director for Nevada). “Though things are improving, it’s important to remember that these young adults are still being overlooked as Nevada focuses on improving K-12 Education. This is why we introduced the Early Career Acceleration program to Nevada. The feedback for the program has been overwhelming positive. Pioneer Technologies and ArmoRock were the first local companies to sponsor students.
To fund scholarships for the training sector, a unique model was created. Local businesses can sponsor scholarships by simply choosing to train their employees with New Horizons. It is a way for businesses to help the community and develop their employees. New Horizons partnered with ITWorks, an organization that provides free IT training to young adults, and is confident that this program can have an impact on the workforce in Las Vegas.
The Early Career Acceleration program is in full swing. New Horizons is currently accepting applications for scholarships and needs additional sponsors. To find out how your company can help or how to apply for the scholarship, email Sean McKesson at [email protected] or call 702-216-9477.
